Editorial: Building self worth by @gbemigurl_

Building self worth
Parents and especially Fathers are very strategic as far as the future of children are concerned. A child will go as far as his father can shoot him. The job of a father is to ensure that his son goes farther than he does.

As a father, you will be a failure if your son does not improve on your achievements. There are Fathers who even envy the success of their children. That is the highest level of insecurity. It should be your joy that your child is an improvement on whatever you are. Mothers are also strategic, and that is why it is said that the hand that rocks the cradle also rules the world.

I thank God for the things I learnt from my mother. She taught me how to handle rejection because that is one of the hallmarks of maturity. She taught me self-belief.
Not everyone will believe in you,no matter how hard you try because you are not sent to everybody. It should not be your responsibility to want to appeal to everyone. You should learn to be and do your best, and let God do the rest.

Your worth is not a function of how tall, short, fat or slim you are. Those things are mere variables.  Your worth is tied largely to how much you know.

Knowledge has both an immediate value and a post-relevance. So whether you will use it now or later, what largely matters is how you store it. Do you store it in a way that is easily retrievable? We all need knowledge because we pay for our ignorance, and above all, wisdom is very vital.

Anyone who plays truancy from wisdom has automatiacally registered for crisis and errors! Wisdom is neither a function of age nor experience. That an individual has been married for 25 years does not qualify him or her to be a marriage counselor. You need to appraise the quality of your own marriage before you can become an authority on the subject of marriage.

If you have results, and your methods have worked for you, people can then learn how to do it from you.
