Apparently, a fan previously wrote a letter slandering Tiwa Savage (Read it Here). So to say, a reader of YL named Ariyike T. deemed it fit to compose a reply in which he sent to our inbox, which I believe it is only fair to have another letter stating the other side of the story.
Read Below.
Dear 'fan' of Tiwa Savage,
RE: Open letter to Tiwa Savage
I am usually an observer to such unnecessary drama but I read your letter and felt a pressing need to reply and point out some issues.
What exactly is your issue with the couple's attempt to control the number of guests at their wedding? It may have escaped you memory but they are also entitled to a private life. Your contribution towards her income by buying her cd or a ticket to her show is irrelevant. You were not forced to buy it neither was attending her wedding a condition for your purchase. She is not the first, nor the last celebrity that has wanted/will want to keep her wedding a private affair. Did Tuface invite fans to his wedding? Reality check - buying her cd does not make you a friend of hers. You are a fan; meaning a total stranger who likes her music.
Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life, there is nothing rude about wanting to have the people closest to you around you to celebrate with.
With regards to the possibility of TeeBillz being a married man, I would understand that people are upset because as a celebrity Tiwa is expected to maintain a higher moral standard than the average person. Firstly, how sure is anyone that TeeBillz is married? Please realise that having children with someone does not make you their spouse, and until the said wife makes a statement with evidence to that effect we can all assume he is NOT a married man. Secondly, please before you rant, ask yourself, where did I read this story? Is it a credible source? Thats is usually the sensible thing but hey, that thing they say about common sense not being common...yeah.
Thirdly, saying Tiwa is desperate to get married is an unnecessary and spiteful comment. Do let us know if she confided in you with that information, if not Miss Temi do take a back seat. Would I be right to assume you a Christian or even if you aren’t, it is common knowledge that one shouldn’t be judgemental because no one is perfect.
Its amazing to see Nigerians tear Nigerians apart like this especially with no clear justification.
Also, Im really confused about something though, how do you write a spite-filled letter and add “Im happy for you”? What exactly are you happy about? You do realise your letter says otherwise?
The main point is this – please think before you criticise. The fact that you have internet connection and no one knows who you are doesn’t mean you should be nasty in the name of ‘criticising’. If you must speak, let it be constructive else your words are in effect useless and aimed at causing hurt (unless of cause that is your aim).
Wishing Tiwa Savage & TeeBillz a blissful marriage, what the Lord has put together let no person with internet connection and a foul agenda put asunder.
Signed,
Ariyike T.
